Impossível Brut Nature is a remarkable traditional-method sparkling wine that captures the purity and freshness of its mountain terroir. Pale yellow in colour with a fine, persistent mousse, it opens with elegant aromas of citrus, green apple and delicate biscuity notes developed through extended lees ageing.

The palate is vibrant, precise and beautifully linear, combining crisp natural acidity with a distinctive mineral character derived from the granite soils of Minho. Bone dry, fresh and exceptionally persistent, it finishes with impressive finesse and elegance.

An outstanding aperitif, it pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sushi, grilled fish and delicate white meats. A sparkling wine that perfectly demonstrates how determination, patience and an exceptional terroir can turn the impossible into reality.

Impossível Brut Nature
Some wines are made. Others are earned.

Creating a traditional-method sparkling wine is an exercise in patience, precision and unwavering belief. It demands trust in time, in nature’s quiet transformation, and in the extraordinary potential of the vineyard.

In the rugged mountains of Paredes de Coura, where steep slopes, poor soils and an unpredictable climate challenge even the hardiest vines, planting a vineyard was once considered almost impossible. Yet from this unlikely landscape comes Impossível Brut Nature is the first sparkling wine ever produced in Paredes de Coura, crafted from the region’s first productive vineyards.

This remarkable wine is a tribute to determination, celebrating the vision that transformed an ambitious dream into reality. Its mountain terroir naturally produces grapes of exceptional acidity, resulting in a sparkling wine of remarkable purity, precision and elegance. Expect vibrant citrus aromas, fine persistent bubbles, pronounced minerality and a crisp, bone-dry finish that perfectly reflects its dramatic origin.

Climate: The vineyards lie on steep mountain slopes where warm summer days are followed by cool nights, creating a large diurnal temperature variation during ripening. The high altitude slows the maturation process, preserving exceptional natural acidity while developing delicate aromas, ideal conditions for producing world-class sparkling wine.

Soil: Poor, granitic and sandy soils with very little clay force the vines to struggle, concentrating flavour and enhancing the wine’s freshness, minerality and remarkable tension.

Winemaking: Produced using the traditional method, Impossível Brut Nature expresses the vineyard with minimal intervention. The naturally high acidity of the fruit allows the wine to be bottled as a true Brut Nature, with no dosage added after disgorgement, preserving its purest expression.

Vinevinu was founded in the 2024 harvest, driven by the shared enthusiasm between father and son, Luís and Manuel Cerdeira, both winemakers. The goal is to create an innovative project in the Vinho Verde region in northern Portugal, exploring the versatility of Alvarinho and capturing its essence across different terroirs, between the sea and the mountains.

With over 30 years of experience, Luís Cerdeira is a reference in the world of Alvarinho. Throughout his career, he was responsible for the Proving Chamber of CVR Vinhos Verdes and for managing the family brand Soalheiro, consolidating it as an international icon. His deep knowledge and passion for the grape are the solid foundation upon which Vinevinu is built, respecting the winemaking tradition of the Minho while embracing innovation.

Following in his father's footsteps, Manuel Cerdeira graduated in Viticulture and Oenology in the United Kingdom in 2024. He developed a modern, global perspective on the industry, with practical experiences in regions like Alentejo, Chile, and Vinho Verde. Co-founder of Not Yet Named Wine Co., he brought a bold approach to winemaking, reflecting his creativity. Now, he combines this contemporary vision with the family legacy, exploring new horizons for Alvarinho.

The team is complemented by Carolina Osorio, born in Colombia, who brings a unique global perspective due to her international experience. Trained in Industrial Design and specialised in Wine Business, Carolina is responsible for an innovative approach to communication and the promotion of authenticity in the wine sector.

You're Overpaying for French Wine Because You Don't Know About Portugal

Here's what other wine producing countries don't want you to know:

Portugal makes wines just as good, sometimes better, for half the price. Everyone’s been trained to worship the same names: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa, Tuscany. But here’s the uncomfortable truth those wine giants don’t want you to hear:

Portugal is making wines just as exceptional, and often better, for a fraction of the price.

And no, this isn’t a budget alternative. It’s a massive blind spot in the wine world. While the rest of the planet keeps pumping out the same 12 internationally famous grape varieties - Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay - Portugal has been doing something radically different.

They’ve quietly preserved more than 250 indigenous grapes you can’t find anywhere else on Earth.

Not copies. Not variations. Completely unique varieties with flavours, aromas, and textures you’ve literally never tasted before.

That £80 Cabernet you just splurged on? Portugal has wines made from grapes you’ve never even heard of… and they’ll absolutely stun you, for £20–£30.

Imagine discovering flavours that feel familiar and completely new.

Imagine drinking wine that feels like a secret... because hardly anyone else knows about it yet.
