This 2018 beauty pours a bold ruby red and brings the vibes of a fresh, easy-going vintage. On the nose? Think mineral charm meets a splash of balsamic, a touch of flowers, and a handful of just-picked red berries.
Take a sip and it’s smooth sailing - light, elegant, with soft tannins that don’t try too hard. The zingy acidity keeps things lively, making this a wine you’ll want to come back to, glass after glass. Perfect for relaxed dinners, spontaneous toasts, or just because.

About this Wine

About this Wine

The year 2018 was a fresh year until August, with the coolest July in the history of the 21st century. Ripening of the vine was about 3 weeks behind the year 2017. In the first days of August there was a strong increase in temperature: August 4th was the warmest day of the 21st century (to date) and the ripening of the grapes continued slowly during September. Due to the water stress imposed, the plants originated musts with low alcohol content and good phenolic maturation, with great complexity and minerality. After transport to Quinta de Naples the grapes were carefully destemmed into a stainless steel vat where they fermented at a controlled temperature for about one week. Part of the blend ages in French oak barrels while the rest remains in stainless steel for about 6 months.

About this Winery

The Niepoort family has been creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro was bought in 1987 and Dirk Niepoort started a new Era in the company with the creation of the first Redoma red in 1991. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions, Dão and Bairrada. Discover the Niepoort Triangle which express the different terroirs: Schist (Douro), Limestone (Bairrada) and Granite (Dão).
