About this Winery
The vineyards and Quintas of our associates are still cultivated according to traditional techniques, being composed mostly by old vines, with low level of mechanization and low productions per hectare. It is there that the grapes that give origin to our Port and Douro Wines are born, with a modern and international profile maintaining the ""terroir"" of the Douro.
In recent years the brand ""Adega de Vila Real"" has become one of the references of great vitality of the Douro, and the affirmation of the region both in Portugal and abroad, through an offer of wines widely distinguished by the excellent price/quality ratio, the press and the most reputable competitions.

I lectured in Portugal during the ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s.
‘ The Vinho verdhe from Moncao was an absolute favourite which I enjoyed greatly in the Fado houses of Alfama . The Muralhas is not only a nostalgic reminder of good friends but a reminder of the guality and extreme drinkability of one of the great historic wines of Portugal.
A safe and quick delivery. The wine is delicious, perfect as a light drink at lunch or with cheese or fish. Really enjoyed it! Will buy more.

Those delightful apricot, peach, citrus and floral notes are satisfyingly intense in the flavour. A delicious wine. I’ve ordered another bottle.
