Dócil (Docile) is made 100% with the Muscatel Galego variety, a variety with a very distinctive identity, characterised by its floral and citric aromas. It has been made light, fresh and jovial, based on the acidity and aromatic expression of the grape variety. Given its low alcohol content and some residual sugar, it has an excellent harmony, inspired by the white wines from Germany. Like the cat, it is docile, but with a unique personality and very strong.

About this Wine

Planted at an altitude of over 500 meters in the Alijó region, the Moscatel Galego grapes were harvested in mid-September and then transported in cold storage to the Quinta de Nápoles winery. Being healthy grapes with high acidity and low sugar content, they resulted in a must with great aging potential.

The alcoholic fermentation process was initiated in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature with the fine lees, then interrupted by cold, followed by a transfer to an isothermal tank to maintain a balanced level of sugar and acidity.

The Niepoort family has been creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro was bought in 1987 and Dirk Niepoort started a new Era in the company with the creation of the first Redoma red in 1991. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions, Dão and Bairrada. Do I have to pay Import taxes?

Absolutely not!

The price you see is the price you pay 😊

We import our wines directly from Portugal and store them in our UK partner warehouse.

This means that all taxes including excise (UK wine tax), import duty and VAT are paid for.

Where do you ship to in the UK?

We currently ship to addresses within Mainland United Kingdom.

All orders will be sent to the address provided at checkout, so please double-check your shipping details to prevent any delays.

Unfortunately, we do not deliver to Northern Ireland or the Channel Islands currently.

If you’re outside the UK and interested in purchasing our wines for delivery within Europe, please contact us, and one of our EU associates will assist you. 

You can also place an order from outside the UK if the delivery address is within UK mainland (England, Scotland and Wales).

How long is delivery?

Delivery takes between 2-5 business days, depending on your location. We strive to deliver as soon as possible; however, delivery times are estimates and may vary based on unforeseen circumstances, including weather or carrier delays.

Can I track my order?

We will let you know when we dispatch your order, enabling order tracking whenever applicable.

You will receive an email confirming dispatch and informing you of the tracking number you may use to keep an eye on your order. On delivery day, you will get a text message from the carrier, confirming he has left the warehouse – this does not mean he/she will be heading immediately your way, so please do observe the scheduled time of delivery.

Orders will be dispatched only upon payment confirmation.

What if there’s no one at home?

Please note that our delivery service operates “throughout the day,” so we recommend choosing an address where someone is usually available to receive the order. If you’re not home often, consider using an alternative address, such as your workplace, a family member’s home, or a neighbour’s address.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay for your order using your preferred method! We accept Credit cards, Debit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Shop if you have a Shop account. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer, please get in touch with us for details.

Do you accept returns?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return. Customer is responsible for return shipping costs

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
