About this Wine

Soalheiro Alvarinho is known as the "Classic" because it was the first wine produced by the family in 1982. Since then, it continues to be our classic style, a single varietal of the Alvarinho grape, with aromatic freshness, intense flavor, and extraordinary aging potential in the bottle - it's a wine that clearly complements any occasion!

The grapes are hand-harvested. After pressing and before fermentation, the must is clarified at low temperature. The wine ferments in stainless steel and ages in contact with the fine lees before bottling. The vinification of Soalheiro Alvarinho is focused on producing a wine that enhances the quality of the grapes and allows for good evolution after bottling.

Our "Classic" has the elegance to be a perfect aperitif or to accompany seafood, grilled fish, white meat, cured cheese, smoked meat, as well as Asian and Mediterranean cuisine dishes.

Soalheiro is the first Alvarinho brand in the northern point of Portugal named Melgaço and one of the first Portuguese producers of Alvarinho. Here the Alvarinho is special, the land is protected by a range of mountains that create conditions of rainfall, temperature and sunshine hours necessary for the best ripening of the grapes.
