Light red colour, it shows itself to be a fresh, young and rustic wine complexity that Douro soils give to wines. With aromas of cherry, raspberry and roses, it is an easy wine to drink with a with a soft and long mouthfeel, leaving aromas of fresh fruit and spices.

About this Wine

Produced from one of the most planted grape varieties in the Douro vineyards,
after manual harvest the grapes arrive at the winery in 20kg boxes, after
destemmed, the grapes ferment naturally by the action of indigenous
in cement vats between 24ºC and 28ºC, with maceration of about one month.

About this Winery

The Douro, the oldest demarcated region in the world, reflects the culture and generations of people who for more than 2000 years have shaped and cultivated the land to give life to a unique landscape and wines. And it was this desire to explore, experiment and of creating that in 2002 took us to the virgin and inhospitable territory of the Douro Superior to bring to life the first Muxagat wine.

We want to create unique and different wines, modern and interesting, but that respect the terroir, that reflect the Douro and that taste like the Douro.

I lectured in Portugal during the ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s.
‘ The Vinho verdhe from Moncao was an absolute favourite which I enjoyed greatly in the Fado houses of Alfama . The Muralhas is not only a nostalgic reminder of good friends but a reminder of the guality and extreme drinkability of one of the great historic wines of Portugal.

Luxuriously delicious
